Elcombe Copse is an idyllic and secluded campsite set on working farmland in the South Wiltshire Downs. Piers and Sophia Milburn run the campsite with a passion for the outdoors, good food, campfires and friends. Over the last three years, Elcombe Farm has been lovingly restored and its beauty and tranquility is enjoyed by all around it.
We love having big groups of friends or families to stay at Elcombe. In fact, this is where Elcombe really comes into it's own. We can accommodate up to 24 people during your weekend and always go the extra mile to make it truly special with delicious food, fun activities and, of course, the incredible setting.
FUN STUFF TO DO
From foraging to archery with real life vikings, there's loads to do at Elcombe. If you're looking to add a little fun or adventure to your weekend, we recommend you read on to discover the possibilities. If you have ideas of your own, we'd love to hear them and will do our best to make them happen.
FOOD & DRINK
Elcombe is a foodies paradise. Not only are we very well equipped for self-catering, we also offer all manner of catering options, inlcuding wood-fired pizzas, barbecues, vintage tea parties and atmospheric candlelit banquets. Cooking your own food is great but sometimes it's good to let someone else handle it. And the washing up!
FUN FOR CHILDREN
Elcombe Copse is the perfect environment for children to enjoy fun in the outdoors. Your host Sophia knows the copse like the back of her hand and will gladly take your children off to become at one with their surroundings, spend time playing games, crafting and making things from the natural materials found in the woods.
HISTORY FESTIVAL 2015
The Chalke Valley History Festival takes place in June 2015 just over the field from Elcombe Copse. This is the largest festival of its kind dedicated to history and features a giant encampment of living history through the ages, spectacular re-enactments and daily airshows featuring some incredible historic aircraft.
